Noel Tata Unanimously Appointed Chairman of Tata Trusts After Ratan Tata's Death

Noel Tata was appointed as the Chairman of Tata Trusts on October 11, following the death of his half-brother Ratan Tata on October 9 at the age of 86. The board of Tata Trusts unanimously agreed on this decision during a meeting in Mumbai. Tata Trusts holds a 66% stake in Tata Sons, the parent company of the Tata Group, and plays an important role in its governance. Ratan Tata led both Tata Trusts and the Tata Group for many years, but he did not have children and did not name a successor. Because of this, the board met to choose the next leader.
